The second screen will receive a high resolution. Apparently, he is needed for shooting selfies on the main camera. The network has information that Xiaomi is developing a smartphone with two color screens (an additional display is located on the back of the device). The foreign edition of iGeekPhone drew renders of this unusual device – it looks interesting, but the mission is not clear.
If you believe the rumors, the main 6.5-inch screen type AMOLED (or Super AMOLED – the information varies) is 98% of the front panel. An additional display with a diagonal of 4 inches and a resolution of 2280 × 1080 pixels is installed on the back of the device. Apparently, the second screen is needed only to take a selfie on the triple main camera.
According to the leaks, the technical specifications of the upcoming two-screen smartphone from Xiaomi are:
- Main display: 6.5 inches, AMOLED or Super AMOLED, 2340 × 1080 pixels.
- Additional display: 4 inches, 2280 × 1080 pixels.
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 (not yet submitted).
- Main camera: 40 + 20 + 12 Mp.
- RAM: 6 or 8 GB (depending on version).
- User memory: 128, 256 or 512 GB (depending on version).
- Battery: 3,600 mAh.
- 5G cellular network support: yes.
At first, it seems that Xiaomi was inspired by two-screen Russian YotaPhone smartphones. However, this is most likely not the case: in the YotaPhone, the second display was created using electronic ink technology – the black-and-white screen is intended for using a smartphone as an electronic book (a display which does not harm the eyes). In the device from Xiaomi, both screens will be color and with a high pixel density.
Information about the timing of the release of new items from the Chinese company is unknown. It is hardly worth waiting for the announcement of the device before the first half of 2019.
