Right-click on the network adapter that you want to uninstall and choose “Uninstall device”. This will remove the adapter from the list and uninstall the networking device as well.
  • Tap on “OK” when prompted in order to uninstall the device.
  • Remove the adapter that you are using from your computer and restart your PC immediately. After the PC boots, just navigate to your manufacturer’s page in order to see the list of available drivers for your operating system as well. Just select the latest one, download it, and run it from the Downloads folder.
  • You have to follow the instructions on-screen in order to install the driver and make sure the adapter stays disconnected. Until the installation prompts you to connect that may or may not do. Restart your PC after the install is over and connect the adapter to your PC.
  • Head back to Device Manager and locate your network adapter under the “Network Adapters” section. Right-click on its icon and tap on Properties. From here, just navigate to the “Power Management” tab. Now uncheck the box that says “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
