After the start of sales of the device it became known that these are not real components of the smartphone, but also not a banal 3D-sticker.

Apparently, in the dispute over the transparency of Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition, you can put a point. Doubts that the last flagship smartphone of the Chinese company is really transparent, appeared immediately after its presentation. But to find out it was possible only yesterday, when the device went on sale.

Do not hide, we, too, were skeptical of this unusual feature of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition, whose internal components were too neatly arranged on the board. In general, such a solution looks very nice, but in reality this is far from it. The Chinese insider Ice Universe published photos on its page in Weibo confirming that the transparency of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition is a fake.

What we see through the transparent back panel, in fact, is a plate with a decorative printed circuit board that covers the real electronic components of the smartphone. It is worth paying tribute Xiaomi at least for the fact that this is not a banal sticker, as we imagined. The manufacturer, of course, tried hard, but it would not be better to use a useful place instead of a decorative board, for example, for a more capacious battery.

Of course, the final verdict must be said by experts who are probably already engaged in disassembling the smartphone, but without them it is obvious. It’s enough that this board does not even have contact BGA-pads, so all the components on it do not interact with each other. In principle, the board can be real, just not functional. In that case, Xiaomi is not to blame, she promised transparency and real components – we got them.
