Instagram also rolled out Stories support shortly after releasing the web app. Also, it enables you to view the temporary posts on a large screen, and in January 2020, the company begins testing support for Direct Messages through the web app. Also, it’s available for a small number of users, but it should be rolled out worldwide soon.
You can’t deny that the Instagram website vastly improved as it was first launched. But still, there’s no alternative way to post pictures or videos either to your feed or to your Instagram Story…
Post On Instagram From Mac -> Upload Images
As you can’t use the standard Instagram website to upload images on a Mac. So there is an alternative way to ‘trick’ Instagram while accessing the site through an iPhone. Also, it enables for image uploads. We’ll discuss how to make Instagram think you are using iPhone so you can upload pictures.
Step 1: Make an Instagram a fool
Initially, before we can fool Instagram into allowing us to upload an image we want to make it think we are in fact using an iPhone.
Head over to Safari and move to Safari > Preferences > Advanced.
Remember to Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar is toggled on.
Then move to the Instagram website and log in to your account.
Then choose Develop (via menu bar) > User Agent > Safari – iOS 12.1.3 – iPhone (or whatever model is the latest).
Now the Instagram website automatically reload and display the mobile model of the site, complete using the upload functionality.
Step 2: Upload images to Instagram via Mac
Now, if you want to use Mac to upload your images then here’s how to:
Initially, click the + icon on the toolbar under your Instagram feed.
Then browse for the pictures you’d like to post. Choose it and tap Choose.
You can also expand the cropped square image after clicking the arrow icon under-left of the image preview. Then click the right icon that enables you to rotate the image.
You can also tap the Filter tab to browse for, and add, a filter to your photo.
After you edited your image and are ready to post, tap Next.
Add a caption, location, and/or tags and now you’re ready to post your feed.
Press Share to upload the image.
Step 3: Upload Image to Instagram Stories using Mac
Choose the Your Story icon located in the top left.
Browse the picture you want to post and double tap or pick Choose.
You’ll then view a preview of the image.
You can also add stamps or write on your image using the tools.
If you want to add text in your image tap on the Aa in the top right. Whatever you write will appear in the middle of the picture once you choose Done.
After you input your text and tap on Add to your story.
If you don’t like to post the picture tap on the X in the top left. You can also select to Keep or Discard the image.
If you are happy with the image tap on Add to your story.
The disadvantage of using this method is to post to Instagram Stories? It works well with Portrait images (landscape gets cropped). Nor you can upload videos this way.
Those are big cons, but there are methods available.
Post On Instagram From Mac -> Upload Images via Vivaldi
Vivaldi is not too much popular Mac app. But you can post pictures to Instagram through Vivaldi without any of the difficulty mentioned above.
You can also add Mobile as a web panel in Vivaldi and try to use that setting after you visit Instagram.

You can edit each picture and video on Instagram, and also add individual captions to every photo. Also, it provides a crop option featured in the app, enabling users the ability to upload original or square-size images.
While this isn’t for casual users, it enables those Instagram fans to upload various posts all at once. Our only complaint? It supports the latest Instagram multi-photo post choices, although we suppose support will be coming soon.
