Following the example of Apple, Samsung also made a decent analog laptop from the tablet thanks to the computer interface.

Samsung introduced a new flagship tablet – Galaxy Tab S4. As expected, the novelty received an advanced filling, but the main feature of the device is to support the “computer mode” from the Samsung Dex docking station – it turns the tablet into a full-fledged computer.

While smartphones can activate the above-described computer mode only when connected to the dock and monitor, the tablet can launch this interface independently (its screen is used as a monitor, and the keyboard is in the corporate case). If desired, the user can connect a Bluetooth mouse and an additional monitor – in this case, the tablet display will be used as an additional screen.

In many ways, the Galaxy Tab S4 is not much different from the previous generation tablet. Of the significant innovations (in addition to the updated filling) it is worth noting the appearance of the iris scanner and the reduced frames around the display.

The technical characteristics of the novelty are as follows:

  • 10.5-inch display type Super AMOLED with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels (aspect ratio – 16:10);
  • 8-core Snapdragon 835 processor with clock speed up to 2.35 GHz (possibly for some markets there will be a modification of the device with a chipset from Samsung);
  • 4 GB of RAM;
  • User memory of 64 or 256 GB (depending on the modification);
  • The main camera is 13 Mp with photosensitivity f / 1.9;
  • Front camera at 8 megapixel with photosensitivity f / 1.9;
  • A 7,300 mAh battery with fast charge support (the corresponding adapter is included);
  • Support for the proprietary stylus pen S Pen (it comes with the kit);
  • Four stereo speakers from AKG;
  • Support LTE;
  • Operating system Android Oreo with the proprietary shell Samsung Experience.

For now, only the basic version of the Galaxy Tab S4 with 64 GB of memory will be available. It will be available from August 24 at a price of  $840. All customers who have pre-ordered on the official website before August 23 inclusive, Samsung gives a branded cover-keyboard. Its price after the start of sales will be $150.
