The front camera in Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will have to be pulled manually

Either the motorized mechanism is expensive in production, or it quickly breaks down. In any case, the manual slider is a good alternative. On YouTube channel there was a video, which captured the yet unpresented smartphone Mi MIX 3. It looks exactly like in the photos published earlier by the official representatives of Xiaomi.

But the video revealed one unexpected feature of the upcoming flagship: the sliding mechanism of the panel with the front camera and the speaker is a hand slider (rather than motorized) – users have to manually push the hidden in the smartphone panel.

Judging by the video above, the slider mechanism received a good design – a panel with a talking speaker and front camera is extremely easy to push. When it became known that the Mi MIX 3 got a camera hidden in the camera, many suggested that Xiaomi followed in the footsteps of OPPO and created a flagship with a motorized sliding panel (“jumping out” from the enclosure automatically – when you start the camera application, conversation and the like). It remains a mystery why the Chinese company decided to implement the slider design with a manual mechanism – either the motorized sliding panel is complex and expensive in implementation, or its reliability leaves much to be desired.

Recent leaks from insiders and even official representatives of Xiaomi fully revealed the appearance of Mi MiX 3 and its features: a frameless IPS type with a small “chin”, a front camera hidden in the body, support for 5G and the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Related.
