According to fresh rumors, Samsung intends to begin production of advanced modules of operational and user memory in the second half of 2018. The use of new technologies will allow the transfer rate of RAM and ROM to a completely new level.

If the rumors are true, by the end of this year, the South Korean giant will start producing LPDDR5 memory with a transfer rate of up to 6,400 MB / s. It is twice as fast as the standard LPDDR4 (in the vast majority of modern devices installed exactly such modules) and 50% higher than LPDDR4X. In the load mode, the novelty consumes as much energy as the previous generation standard, and in the standby mode, it is more economical by 40%.

Also, according to the information walking in the network, Samsung plans to begin production of user memory standard UFS 3.0 for smartphones – also in the second half of 2018. Advanced technology exceeds UFS 2.1 by half.

If the above information is reliable, the newest modules of operational and user memory will appear in smartphones not earlier than 2019. Most likely, advanced technologies make their debut in the flagships of Samsung: Galaxy S10 (in the first half of next year) or Galaxy Note 10 (late summer of 2019).
