Samsung Never Got Rid of Advertisements in Notifications

Written by Hassan Abbas

Not all Samsung customers are pleased that after the acquisition of expensive devices they obsessively advertise other gadgets.

XDA-Developers portal editor Max Weinbach (Max Weinbach) noted that Samsung is still sending advertisements to owners of its devices through Push Notifications. South Korean Corporation offers users Galaxy S9 and S9 + to purchase the flagship tablet Galaxy Tab S3 with a discount of $ 100. The action is quite tempting, but it is available to everyone on the official website (and not exclusive to the owners of flagship smartphones) and is distributed on the eve of the release of Tab S4.

Samsung is sending advertising through the company’s system of notifications for quite some time. For the first time mention of it appeared in major media in 2015. Since then, little has changed. In 2017, the South Korean corporation changed the style of advertising, notifying users not about the availability of their gadgets, but about the release of free games in Galaxy Apps.

The advertising of free applications was perceived by users not as aggressively as the advancement of branded devices: few people want that after buying an expensive mobile device they impose the purchase of another gadget. The only way to get rid of ads (not requiring superuser rights) is to disable the Samsung Push Service via ADB with the following command: adb shell pm uninstall -k –user 0 com.sec.spp.push
