Restore Contacts from Google: So have you lost your phone or reset it by mistake and you think you lost all of your contacts that were save on the device. Don’t worry about it. By default, Google may securely back up all important information such as phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and contact photos. Aso, you can access it in case of loss of your data or your primary device.
You should also restore lost contacts back onto your phone if you had backed up the same in the past.
How to Restore Contacts from Google
Step 1:
Firstly, Open Settings on your Android device.
Step 2:
Click on Google.
Step 3:
Under Services, click on the Setup & restore.
Step 4:
Choose Restore contacts.
Step 5:
Select which account to restore contacts from by clicking on From Account.
- Choose the right account from the list.
- Click OK.
Step 6:
Under Device Backup, choose the phone you wish to copy the contacts from.
Step 7:
Now Toggle the adjacent SIM card and Device storage to OFF position, if you don’t want to copy contacts from your SIM card or phone storage.
Step 8:
Click on Restore.
Wait until a message appears “Contacts restored”. The restored contacts will now be visible on your device.
Warning! The above method only works for you if you had previously backed up your contact details to your Google account. Recently if you didn’t back up this data, most of your contacts will be restored based on your last backup, if there’s one.
How to Automatically Sync Contacts to Google
While you backup contacts at any time, this is only possible if you regularly sync contacts to your Google account. However, if you meet and save contacts of new people on a daily basis, then we recommend you sync contacts to Google on a daily basis. Also, this can be done easily by allowing Google to automatically sync contacts to your account.
Step 1:
Open Settings.
Step 2:
Select Accounts.
Step 3:
Also, Tap on the Google account you primarily use.
Step 4:
Select Account sync.
Step 5:
Make sure the toggle adjacent to Contacts is ON.
Step 6:
Back up contacts manually by following these instructions:
- Tap on the 3-dot icon at the top right.
- Tap on Sync now.
Your contacts and the other information that was selected in the sync page will also get backed up to your Google account.
