Apple launches its Smart Battery Case design for the new iPhone 11 series. But it’ll set you back $129. It’s got some cool and exciting features and comes in designer colors. But is it worth the money?

Tacitly acknowledging that many people out there need more battery capacity than its slim phones can hold. Apple offers the Smart Battery Case, a slip-on case with a built-in battery that provides an abundance of extra power. The new case for the iPhone 11 sports some interesting and amazing features. Its silicone exterior comes in a few different designer colors and is easy to slip off and on. It’s also the first Smart Battery Case to sport a discrete camera button to make it easier to snap photos.

The new Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro provides up to 50% longer lasting battery life when fully charged. When the iPhone is using the case, it will show the battery status on its lock screen and in Notification Center. So it’ll never be a mystery about how much charge you have left.

The case can charge wirelessly using Qi-certified charging mats, or for an even faster charge. You can also use a USB-PD compatible charger. It’s compatible with Lightning cables and peripherals too. Spending $129 on a case, battery-equipped or not is a lot of money.

iPhone 11 Smart Battery Case: To be continued…

You can get more capacity but you can’t get better technology, efficiency, or integration. The Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Max are available in different colors such as pink, black, and white. Alas, the product is not available in Red. At least not yet.
