Huawei introduced Nova 4 – its first smartphone with a camera in the screen

Also, the novelty received a triple main camera with a 48-megapixel main matrix (in the top version of the device). During the special event, Huawei announced a new smartphone series Nova. As followed from the numerous leaks, the device received a hole in the corner of the screen exclusively for the front camera (and not the cut-out for all the front sensors). In addition, Nova 4 is equipped with a triple main camera – a rarity for smartphones of the average price category.

In the corner of the screen is a hidden 25-megapixel matrix. New from Huawei did not become the first with a dotted cutout under the camera in the display – the Chinese company was ahead of Samsung with its smartphone Galaxy A8s. However, in the gadget of the South Korean corporation, a 24-megapixel front camera is installed in a rather overall opening, the diameter of which seems to be much larger than the point cut in the Nova 4. However, you shouldn’t judge only by renders – smartphones should be compared at least by live photos.

Huawei Nova 4 is available in two versions, the difference between which lies in the resolution of the main lens of the main camera: in the basic version of the smartphone, the matrix is set at 20 megapixels, and in the improved version – 48 megapixels.

Full technical specifications of the device are as follows:

  • Display: 6.4 inches, 2310 × 1080 pixels.
  • Processor: Huawei Kirin 970, 8 cores with a clock frequency of up to 2.4 GHz.
  • RAM: 8 GB.
  • User Memory: 128 GB.
  • Main camera: 20 + 16 + 2 Mp or 48 + 16 + 2 Mp (depending on version).
  • Front camera: 25 megapixels.
  • Battery: 3 750 mAh with support for fast charging via USB Type-C port.
  • Operating system: Android 9 Pie with a proprietary EMUI shell.
  • Fingerprint scanner: there is, on the back.

Huawei Nova 4 is already sold in China for $450 for the base version and $490 for the improved. Information about the availability of a smartphone outside the local market is unknown.
