Get Unlock Code :

Step 1:

Head over to the Sony official site for an unlocking code.

Step 2:

On the Sony web page move to last and under Select Your Device Select your Sony phone. But if your device is new it can take a few days to appear.

Step 3:

Simply check the IMEI number of your Android. You can also find it in the About phone page. If your phone supports dual SIM then you want IMEI 1.

Step 4:

Input the IMEI number on the site and then check the first two choices.

Step 5:

Then tap on Submit to get Unlock Code. After getting the Unlock Code so copy the code.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader on Sony Xperia 1 II :

Follow the steps to unlock the Bootloader on Sony Xperia 1 II:

Step 1:

All your Android data will remove if you unlock the bootloader so first take a full backup of your phone.

Step 2:

Now check your device compatibility. Simply open the dialer and input *#*#7378423#*#*. It will open the Service Menu on your phone.

Step 3:

Then move to Service Info > Configuration > Rooting Status. And check the Bootloader Unlock status, it should be ‘Yes’. If your phone is a new launch then you should wait for few days and try again.

Step 4:

Now install the USB driver on your Windows computer. Ignore this step if you are using macOS.

Step 5:

Install ADB & Fastboot driver on your PC which will analyze your phone in the fastboot mode.

Then head over to Settings > About Phone and click 7-8 times on Build Number to allow developer options on your Xperia 1 II.

Step 7:

Once it is enabled head over to Settings > Developer options and enable the USB Debugging & OEM Unlocking.

Switch off your device and attach it to your PC.

To boot Sony Xperia 1 II into Fastboot Mode long press Volume Up button.

Once you entered it’ll wipe all data and unlock bootloader on your phone.

Root Sony Xperia 1 II with Magisk Patched File

Step 1:

Initially Ctrl+C the downloaded Firmware on your computer and extract it.

Step 2:

Now open the Extracted folder and find the boot_XXXXX.sin file.

Step 3:

Also, copy the boot file to your Phone storage. Make sure the location as you want it later.

Step 4:

Now install the Magisk Manager app on your phone and then open it.

Step 5:

Tap on the Install > Install.

Step 6:

In the next screen select ‘Select and Patch a File’ and then locate the boot.sin file.

Step 7:

Now it’ll patch the file and the result will be stored in the Download folder with name patched_boot.img.

Step 8:

Ctrl+C the patched file to your PC (C:\adb). And specify the name to boot.img (patched_boot.img to boot.img).

Step 9:

Power off your phone and connect the phone to your PC via USB cable.

Step 10:

Also, boot your Sony Xperia 1 II into Fastboot Mode. If you boot in Fastboot Mode then long-press Volume Up button.

Step 11:

Head over to C:\adb and input CMD in the location and hit Enter (C:\adb to CMD). It will open the command window.

Step 12:

Input the below command to flash the patched file to root Sony Xperia 1 Mark 2.

  • fastboot flash boot boot.img
Step 13:

Also, it installs the magisk patched file on your Android. Reboot your phone and then enjoy the root access.
