Do you want to set your default Calendar account? One of the best things about the Calendar app is that you can set up several accounts. This enables you to add events to an iCloud or Gmail calendar and a personal or work calendar. They both are separate from each other.
But if you find that you are adding events to the same calendar most certainly, you probably want to set the default calendar account. This way, every latest event you include will automatically move on that calendar, yet you can still modify it to a different one if required.
Here’s how to set your default Calendar account on the iPad, iPhone, and Mac.
How To Set your default Calendar on iPhone and iPad
Choose Calendar in your Settings.
Click Default Calendar. You’ll then check the name of the calendar recently used as the default.
Select the calendar you like to use as the default.
Again, every new event you create in the Calendar app will automatically move onto this calendar. If you want to modify it, this is quite easy.
Head over to the Calendar and choose the event.
Click Calendar and select a different one.
Set your default Calendar on Mac
On Mac, you’ll move directly to the Calendar app to modify your default.
Using your Calendar open, tap Calendar > Preferences from the menu bar.
At the bottom of the Default Calendar near the bottom, tap the drop-down box. You’ll then check that you can also leave this as chosen Calendar. It means that you can simply select the calendar in your list first and the latest event you create will move on that calendar. Or, you can select a particular one, just like on iOS.
Simply close the Calendar Preferences once you’re set.
If you do select a particular calendar for your default, besides Selected Calendar, and want to modify it, this is simple.
Head over to Calendar and choose the event.
Tap the calendar color drop-down and select the one you want.
Here’s all about “Set Your Default Calendar Account”. Setting a default account in the Calendar app is ideal once you normally include events to the same calendar each time. And modifying the calendar for that one-off case is quite easy.
