How to remove GZ file from compact mode

The tricks will teach you how to unzip and unzip the GZ file. The GZ file is compressed (ZIP). You can do this with different apps in the Windows, Mac, and Android and iPhone.

The steps for extracting the GZ file from the compressed state

  1. Download and install 7-Zip. If you do not have 7-Zip on your computer, you can skip this step.
      • Go to to download 7-Zip .
      • Click Download at the top of the screen.
      • Double-click the 7-Zip installation file.
      • When prompted, click Yes.
      • Click Install.
      • When the installation is complete, click Close.
  1. Click Start. Click the Windows window icon on the side of the page. The Start menu will open for you.
  2. Open the File Explorer. In the Start menu, click on the folder icon like.
  3. Go to the GZ file location. From the left side of the File Explorer window, click on the folder where the GZ file is located.
  4. To access the GZ file, you may need to open different folders.
  5. Select GZ file. Click the file to do this.
  6. Click the Home tab. This tab is located in the far left corner of the File Explorer window. This will display the toolbar under the Home tab.
  7. Click Copy. This option is located in the “Clipboard” section.
  8. Open 7-Zip. Click the white and black icon of the 7-Zip app.
  9. Click the 7-Zip address bar. This bar is located above the 7-Zip window. This will select the content of the address bar.
  10. Enter the address of the GZ folder. To enter the address, press Ctrl + V, then enter Enter. This will go to the folder where the GZ file is located and you can see its contents.
  11. Click the folder icon. This icon is located to the left of the address bar. This will select the GZ file and allow you to remove it from the compressed state.
  12. Click on Extract. This icon is located on the left side of the 7-Zip window. A new window will open for you.
  13. Specify the destination where you want to save the file. Click the “Extract to” field on the right. Select the storage destination and click OK.
  14. Click OK. This option is located at the bottom of the window. This will close the window and the content of the file will be unzipped and stored at the specified location.

Once the process is complete, you can double-click the file and view its content.
