Hide Best Friends
Written by Kelly Houstan

Snapchat is actually the go-to social media platform for a lot of people between the ages of 13 and 25. It basically aims to keep friends in touch with one another. As such, the app lists your contacts in the Send To function, and then right at the top, you’ll guys find your “Best Friends“. Just read this article to know all about How to Hide Best Friends on Snapchat. Let’s start!

Snapchat’s ‘Best Friends’ feature basically creates a list of users to easily communicate with. This is really great if you have a close-knit friends circle that you guys constantly snap. Rather than scrolling through your list looking for your favorite people, Snapchat actually does it for you! But, if you would like to get rid of your Best Friend list or even replace it along with new users, we have you covered.

How Does Anyone Become Your Best Friend

The basic criteria that are followed via Snapchat in order to categorize someone under the list for best friends are the fact that how mostly do you both snap at each other.  The more you guys snap with them, the more chance of them falling under the best friends list on your Snapchat. I literally have just two best friends on Snapchat since they are the only ones whom I can call my Best Friends in real life as well. Just for your information, the list of best friends on Snapchat does not really have to match along with your real-life list of best friends as well.

Just how the score for each Snapchatter actually works on Snapchat. Now just like that, each Snapchat-er has a score for how mostly they snap each other. And this score is not disclosed to the user as well. This information stays along with the Snapchat management who keeps you guys updated through the emojis and best friends list that you have achieved the best friend level as well.

How to Hide Best Friends on Snapchat

In order to make it easier to send snaps to the people, you interact with the most. Snapchat basically introduced the ‘Best Friends’ feature as well. This tags your most frequently snapped users and then creates a list upfront so that you easily send them snaps as well.

Snapchat basically uses a simple algorithm to determine who you guys snap the most. It should be also noted that such as Snapstreaks, Best Friends are determined via snaps and not texts; i.e. You guys must interact along with the user through sending snaps back and forth. Snapchat Best Friends can be identified via the emoji next to their name.

Well, there are basically two ways to go about removing a user/user from your Best Friends list on Snapchat. They both really have their pros and cons, so you have to select wisely.

Start snapping another user

Since Snapchat basically uses your interaction to decide who gets into your Best Friends list. You guys can remove a user from your list via restricting your snaps to them, and rather, sending snaps to a different user. It should note that this process will actually take a while. You guys cannot remove a user from your Best Friends list overnight along with this procedure.

Also, simply not sending them snaps will not do the trick as well. You will have to send snaps to another user so that your interaction along with your Best Friend actually becomes comparatively less.

Block the user | Hide Best Friends

The first way in order to remove a user from your Best Friends list is just to block them. Whenever you block a user, they will then disappear not only from your Best Friends list but also from your contact list. This will immediately bring the interaction between you and also the user down to zero. Plus, if you guys want to keep the user in your contact list, you will have to re-add them as a friend (they will actually receive a notification).

  • In order to block a Best Friend user, just open the Snapchat app, and then swipe right to reach the chats page. Now scroll to the user and click and hold on to their chat.
  • In the popup settings, you have to click on More > Block. That’s just it. The user will then disappear from your Best Friends list.
  • When/if you guys re-add the user, your Snap score will be reset to zero. So they will no longer be on your Best Friends list as well.

Change the order of Snapchat Best Friends

Well, there is no manual way of changing the order of your Best Friends list as well as even editing the list at all. You could use the method stated above in order to restrict interactions Along with a certain user and increase interactions with another. This will also help you adjust who remains higher on your list.

Can I hide my Best Friends list? | Hide Best Friends

Unfortunately, since Best Friends is basically an official Snapchat feature, there is no way in order to hide the list. But, this list is only visible to you. You can also change the emojis that we attach to your Best Friends. You have to read on in order to learn how.

If Someone Is Your Best Friend On Snapchat, Are You Theirs?

If someone is your Best Friend, then that doesn’t necessarily mean you guys are one of their Best Friends too. It all relies on which emoji you guys see.

So how exactly can you tell? Seeing any of the heart’s emojis is just a good sign. The Double Pink, Red, and Gold Hearts all mean you guys are each other’s Best Friends and also differ solely based on how long that is maintained. The simple Smile emoji actually means that contact is one of your Best Friends, however, not your #1 Best Friend. That might be true if roles are reversed; just like that, the Smirking Smiling Face.

Ultimately, this isn’t something you guys should worry about. As long as you enjoy sending them Snaps and Chats, and they guys are appreciative too, carry on enjoying yourselves. It just doesn’t really matter if there are many other people they might converse along with more on Snapchat at a given moment.
