Android 10 custom ROMs are rapidly growing, especially based on the Android Open Source Project. If you are trying to flash an Android 10 custom ROM, here is our guide on how to install Gapps (Google Apps) along with it. Make sure all AOSP ROMs install without the Play Store. However, Play Store necessary, there is an individual package we call it Gapps which users need to download and install after flashing a custom ROM without Google Apps.

Unlike custom ROMs that are device-specific, Gapps are more general/universal. You only have to make sure of what architecture your device utilizes (64Bit for most modern phones / 32bit for older, budget devices). After you have that figured out, you can simply download and flash the complete correct package right after installing your ROM.

How to Install GApps (Google Apps) on Android 10 Custom ROMs:

You must have Android 10 running as these apps are targeted towards that specific version. Furthermore, the installation is just like installing a custom ROM and needs a custom recovery installed on your device. After installation follows the below mention steps carefully!

Make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your Android device.

Must Remember:
  • You have Android 10 custom ROM flashed already.
  • Make sure you already have a custom recovery installed.
  • You can also skip the installation of Gapps and use your custom ROM but there won’t is any Google apps or Google account support, especially the Google Play Store.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1:

Install and Download the latest Android 10 Gapps from the links below:

Step 2:

Make sure just place the downloaded zip file to the root of your device.

Step 3:

Then switch OFF your device and boot into Recovery Mode.

Step 4:

In custom recovery, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the POWER button to select it.

Step 5:

Now press the POWER button again and select “choose zip from SD card”.

Step 6:

Now using your VOLUME keys, just navigate to ZIP FILE and choose it using the POWER button. Now confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Step 7:

Once the installation completes, go to the “Go Back” option and reboot the device by selecting the Reboot option from the recovery menu. The device will boot now.

Now you will have all the apps installed. You can view them in the app drawer and use them like normal apps.

These are critical system apps but the normal user doesn’t have permission to uninstall them. As we mentioned earlier, to remove these apps you need to factory reset and install the custom ROM again.
