Twitch and Discord are just the same in many ways but different in more. Twitch is all about the streaming when Discord is all about the chat. There is room for both in our lives and you guys can also even integrate them together so you can use one along with the other. It’s a little thing, however, offers more interaction between streamers and their audience. Just read this article to know all about Discord Twitch Integration not Working – How to Fix. Let’s start!

If you are a streamer, you probably already know about the Discord StreamKit as well. A set of tools that includes Twitch integration as well as Patreon, Nightbot, and many other integration tools. There are also tools for YouTube, Mixer, and others in there as well.

If you are new to Twitch or to Discord or are not a streamer, then you don’t need StreamKit since everything you need is built into Discord. If you guys want to link the two together, this is how you guys do it.

Linking Twitch to Discord

Linking Twitch to Discord basically means you can stream using your favorite streaming platform. When providing a Discord channel for everyone to hang out during or afterward. It’s actually an extra level of engagement that can work well for communities that also like to spend time together even outside of streams.

The integration is really straightforward to set up and uses the inbuilt Connections feature of Discord. The initial setup has to be done on the desktop. Only when the configuration has been completed will you guys be able to use the functions on mobile. It may also take a little while for the two platforms to sync so if you don’t see everything immediately, then don’t panic.

Here’s how you can set it up on desktop:

  • First of all, you have to open Discord and log in.
  • Choose User Settings from the gear icon by your username.
  • Select Connections from the left menu as well.
  • Choose the Twitch icon from the right pane. A browser window will appear asking for permission to link Twitch to Discord as well.
  • Agree to permit Twitch in order to access Discord.

If you guys are not a streamer, that’s it for integrating the two. Twitch and Discord can now play nicely together. If you’re a streamer, then there are a few more steps you have to take to integrate the two platforms more fully.

  • You have to navigate to the main Discord screen.
  • Choose the server you want to integrate your Twitch feed to.
  • Now choose Server Settings from the dropdown menu via the server name.
  • Select Integrations from the left menu as well.
  • Choose the Connect text link on the right.
  • Set all the connection properties you guys might want to add.

Here’s how you can set it up on mobile:

  • First, choose the user icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select Connections as well.
  • Tap on the add at the top of the screen and then select the purple Twitch icon.
  • Agree to link your Twitch account along with Discord if you see the notification.

If you guys re not a streamer, that’s it for integrating the two. Twitch and Discord can now play nicely together. If you’re a streamer, then the desktop can have access to it. The connection properties also include partner options, account syncing, many roles for sponsors or partners, and a couple of other settings. When you do that, your setup is complete as well.

Join a linked server in Discord

If you want to join a server linked to Twitch, then it is almost as straightforward as joining any type of server. When Discord and Twitch have synchronized their settings, then you should see a list of streams you also have subscribed to in Twitch that has linked to Discord.

  • First, you have to select your User Settings from the gear icon through your username.
  • Choose Connections and Twitch as well.
  • Select the server you wish to join from the purple list on the right.
  • Now choose Join.

Not all Twitch streamers link along with Discord so you might not see all the streams you are subbed to. Again, if you have just also set everything up, it takes a little whenever for Discord to sync along with Twitch in order to show all your settings. Provide it a little while if you guys don’t see your subbed streams in the Connections window.

Setting Discord roles for Twitch subscribers

If you’re a Twitch streamer, nothing makes your subscribers feel special more than a distinct role in Discord. Something that makes them stand out. Perhaps you can add a distinct role color to make them feel even more special. Discord should automatically set up a role for subscribers when you link your two accounts and they have had time to sync.

You can also then go into Roles on your server and customize it so the colors stand out and show a unique name. This is purely optional, however, will always help engagement.

The ability in order to integrate Twitch with Discord will work for some of the users but not others. That’s fine as this is a value-add feature and not a core facet of Discord as well. If you guys do like hanging out along with stream subscribers outside of Twitch, then this is one simple way to do it.
