  • Keynote settings and layout
    • Slide layout
    • Grid layout
    • Handout layout
    • Outline layout
  • Page Attributes
  • Layout Settings
  • Paper Handling
  • Print your presentation

Access the print menu

While setting up your presentation for printing, initiate by tapping File > Print from the menu bar. However, If you view a summary of the print settings, just tap the Show Details button at the bottom to see them all.

When you view all of the detail, the top setting will remain the same for Printer, Copies, Presets and Pages. Finish this section as required.

You’ll then choose an option from the drop-down box under there for the extra settings below.

Keynote Settings & Layouts

The Keynote choice in the drop-down is where you’ll begin. You’ll choose from a slide, handout, grid, or outline layout that are the 4 ways to print your slideshow.

Select your layout and the settings beneath it will adjust accordingly. When you select a layout and adjust the options, you’ll then view a preview on the top left which is quite handy for just the right look.

Slide layout

The layout places one slide per page. You can simply check the boxes if you like margins, slide numbers, presenter notes, and the name and date.

This is the best layout to use if you don’t have plenty of slides and each contains plenty of detail like text.

Grid layout

This layout sorts your slides in a grid and you can have between two and sixteen slides per page. You can also add slide numbers and the date and name.

This is another best layout to use if your presentation has plenty of slides with visuals like pictures.

Handout layout

The handout layout puts your slides on the left having lines for notes to the right of each one. You can select from one to four slides per page. Besides Slide layout, you can also include slide numbers, presenter notes, and name and date if you want to.

This handout layout you like for slides with visuals while taking notes is required.

Outline layout

This layout provides a simple, written outline of your presentation. The only additional options you can include are the date and name.

If the visuals in your slideshow are not necessary or if you don’t have any, then this may be the way to go.

Print options

On the right, the print options are quite similar for each layout except Outline that is your slideshow in a written form so the choices don’t apply.

So plan if you like to print the backgrounds, skipped slides, each stage of the builds, and best images.

Page Attributes

If you like to modify the Orientation or choose a Paper Size for your presentation. Tap the Page Attributes option in the drop-down.

Layout settings

For selecting the number of Pages per Sheet, Border, Layout Direction and Two-Sided options, choose Layout in the drop-down box.

You can also setback the page orientation or flip a page horizontally in this section.

Paper Handling

The last choice in the drop-down is for Page Handling. You’ll go here if you like to Collate the pages. Simply print only odd or even pages, and select a Destination Paper Size.

Print your presentation

When you complete making all of your adjustments, tap Print. You can also store your presentation as a PDF, share it in an email, or send it via Messages. Just choose an option in the drop-down box on the left that is likely set to PDF by default.
