Detailed Weather Display On iPhone: Like it or not, Weather plays an important role in our lives. Keep it in mind, it makes sense for Weather information to be front-and-center on our smartphone Lock screens as we use our devices throughout the day.
While you can definitely clear over to see the Weather widget from the Lock screen. Also, I would prefer a much more integrated approach from Apple. Unfortunately, that looks about as likely as a USB-C port at that point. And if you’re fed up of waiting, then you can always resort to using a new jailbreak tweak called Mot by iOS developer Don.
What is Mot? Have you ever heard about it? Mot puts essential Weather information directly on the first page of your iPhone’s Lock screen. Just under the time and date. It kicks things off with a description of what’s going on, and also display a daily weather forecast with highs and lows underneath.
If you’re usually reading the weather in other ways, then you’ll be happy to know that Mot is entirely customizable. While installing the tweak, you’ll also find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can set the tweak up your way:
Here, you can:
- You can toggle Mot on or off on demand
- Allow Mot to use your Location to discern Weather data
- Input a custom location if you prefer not to use your location
- Pick between Celsius or Fahrenheit for temperature readouts
- Select between hourly, minutely, or daily for forecast times
- Also, select between min/max or max/min temperature readouts
- Allow or disable dark mode
- Allow or disable collapsed mode
Personally, I love the way Mot comes right out of the box. But when Fahrenheit selected instead of Celsius. That aside, I also begged potential users to get their dirty hands dirty with the settings to get the exact look and feel they’re going for.
Those users who are interested in downloading Mot for the best Weather experience on their iPhone. They can get it for $2.49 in the Packix repository from any package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS devices running 12 or 13.
