See an invitee’s availability

If you’re deciding an event, whether it be a meeting, party, or some other gathering. However, it can be quite difficult to do if you don’t know everyone’s schedule. In Calendar on Mac, you can also check the availability of those you invite to make planning easier.

Note on the feature from Apple:

You only view Check Availability if your event is on a calendar service that monitor availability, like CalDAV.

Step 1:

Firstly, Create your event as you normally would and then add your invitees on the right side.

Step 2:

If you view the Check Availability button, move and tap it or choose Window > Availability Panel from the menu bar.

Step 3:

When the panel opens, you’ll view a list of your invitees with their availability. You can also tap to view All Day or just Work Hours. Simply switch to a different date, or select Next Available Time.

Step 4:

If you want to select the various times for your event. Simply do it right in the Availability Panel. However, you’ll then receive a notification that the event has changed. They are asking if you would like to Revert, Edit, or share the update.

Step 5:

When you end using the panel, tap Done at the bottom.

Disable the effect on your availability

Just say that you’ve your Google calendar enabled in the Calendar app. However, make sure don’t use it to plan events. Maybe you use it to remind yourself of daily tasks. Or as a journal where you record activities each day, or also as a bucket list.

However, adding these events to your calendar doesn’t mean you’re “unavailable” to meet with others, right? Here’s how to fix that.

Step 1:

Firstly, open the Calendars list in the sidebar and choose an account.

Step 2:

Either right-tap the account or tap Edit from the menu bar and choose to Get Info.

Step 3:

Unmark the box for Events affect availability.

Step 4:

Then tap OK.

But if someone invites you to an event and checks your availability, you’ll display as Available to them for that account.

Conclusion:

Hopefully, this tip will help you plan your next activity, daily task, meetings or event in the Calendar app.
