Before you get set up

Remember that you have some latest version of Keynote on your device. However, that you’re signed in to iCloud. Apple also instructs:

You can invite up 100 viewers anywhere or up to 35 on your local Wi-Fi network. To watch, viewers require a web browser or the latest version of the Keynote app. They don’t require iCloud accounts to watch presentations.

Use Keynote Live on iPhone or iPad

While using your iPhone or iPad, initially open your presentation in Keynote and then do the following.

Step 1:

Click the More button at the top, select Use Keynote Live, and click Continue.

Step 2:

Click Invite Viewers and select how you like to send the invitations. You can also use Mail, AirDrop, Messages or copy the link to share it yourself.

Step 3:

If you like to need a password for your participants. Simply click More Options > Add Password. Input and verify the password you like to use and click Done.

Step 4:

Once done, click either Play Now or Play Later. If you select Play Now, your presentation will begin immediately.

If you click Play Later, move back to your presentation when you’re ready. Also, click the Play button at the top, and choose Play on Keynote Live. You’ll also be able to view the number of invitees that are attached and are waiting for the presentation to initiate.

Simply,  control your presentation as you normally use Keynote Remote to present your slideshow. To pause the slideshow, click the screen. But if viewers are still watching, a prompt appears to confirm, so click Exit.

To disable Keynote Live, click More > Keynote Live Settings. Choose disable Keynote Live and click Done.

Use Keynote Live on Mac

Using Mac to play your presentation using Keynote Live, simply open your presentation in Keynote and then follow these steps.

Step 1:

Tap the Keynote Live button from the toolbar and press Continue.

Step 2:

Tap the Invite Viewers button and select how you like to send the invitations.

Step 3:

If you like to need a password for your participants. Simply tap More Options and check the Require password box. Just input and confirm the password you like to use and tap Set Password.

Step 4:

Once done, tap either Play Now or Play Later. If you select Play Now, your presentation will begin right up.

If you select Play Later, move back to your presentation when you’re ready. Also, tap the green Play button, and select Play on Keynote Live. You’ll also be able to view the number of invitees that are waiting next to the green Play button in the toolbar or when you tap it.

Control your presentation when you were all sitting in the same room. However, you can also use Keynote Remote to display your slideshow.

To pause the slideshow, press the Escape key. However, if viewers are still watching, a prompt appears asking to confirm, so just tap Exit Slideshow.

To disable Keynote Live. Simply tap the Keynote Live button in your toolbar and choose Turn Off Keynote Live.

While using Keynote Live to play a presentation. The slides are exported as temporary files to iCloud. To ensure the smoothens of your playback, all of the files stream to the viewers’ devices whenever you begin your presentation. However, only viewers using the Keynote Live link can access the files.
