Apple declares massive Austin, Texas expansion underway: A year ago Apple declares a billion-dollar investment to expand its regional offices in Austin, Texas. On Wednesday the company announced that construction on that new campus is underway. Maybe it is open in 2022.

Apple in Austin

Apple has long had offices in Austin, Texas, where the company already employs about 7,000 people. A 50% increase over the past half-decade. Also, the new 3-million-square-foot campus hires 5,000 workers. It has the capacity to grow to 15,000 eventually. Also, Apple verifies that the Austin campus is only part of its nationwide expansion.
