Apple officially announced its newest member of the truly wireless headphones family, the AirPods Pro before the end of October. And now the in-ear headphones have a firmware update.

Apple Released a New Firmware:
Apple on Thursday officially released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro. As it brings the firmware version number up from 2B584 to 2B588. The newly released firmware will automatically install for the AirPods Pro when you connect them next to your iPad or iPhone. The update is free.
How to check your AirPods’ firmware version
- You should know that your AirPods are connected to your iOS device (open the charging case or put your AirPods in your ears).
- Then launch the Settings app on your iOS device.
- Click General.
- Tap About.
- Now scroll down and tap AirPods or AirPods Pro.
- Check the number next to Firmware Version to see what firmware version your AirPods are running.
If your firmware version says something other than 6.3.2 (AirPods) or 2B588 (AirPods Pro) then your AirPods need an update!
- Put them in their case
- plug it in
- place your phone nearby, and keep your fingers crossed for that automatic update!
As far as what the new firmware does for the AirPods Pro, that’s unknown at this time. As it may improve overall connectivity. But it in actual they are meant to fix, improve, or otherwise patch something. So if you have the new AirPods Pro then surely connect your wireless headphones to your device soon.
This is an over-the-air update, however, so it may take some time before the new software is available for all AirPods Pro out there in the wild.
