That includes aptX and aptX HD, you want to use when streaming audio wirelessly. In the same vein, Developer Preview 2 now has an option for you to choose which AVRCP version to use. Rather than just getting stuck with the default v1.4. In this article, we are going to talk about Android O Adds a Bluetooth AVRCP Version. Let’s begin!

Audio or Video Remote Control Profile (or AVRCP) allows for using a single device or remote. In order to control all A/V equipment that you might have access to; That is. it allows for many devices to control playback on other remote ones. We can commonly see in-vehicle infotainment systems and also allows for play or pause and track skipping.

Version 1.4 is the default in Android, just like the menu in the screenshot above tells you. 1.5 and 1.6 build upon their predecessor and also add new features or fixes along the way. However, the newest one, v1.6, contains the ability to browse data and track information and is also used to find the number of items in a folder.  Without even downloading the entire list as well as transmit cover arts.

While small news, it is pretty cool to see. We are still digging via all of the new stuff coming in O that Google announce at I/O, so stick around if you have intereste in it.
